Universal Access for All Learners

Universal Access time is a dedicated part of the school day especially focused on providing instruction matched to the needs of students in both English Language Arts and Mathematics. UA supports students' access to core instruction and promotes their learning and growth. It is part of a district's commitment to provide high quality curriculum and instruction to all students.

Universal Access time supports all learners by:

  • accelerating growth for students who have not yet met academic standards, and
  • providing enrichment opportunities for on level and advanced learners.

During Universal Access time, all teachers (classroom and intervention) work with targeted groups of students. Students are grouped using assessment data to best meet their specific needs with the most at-risk students receiving instruction from the intervention teacher.
